September 2010 – January 2013
The Artists Everywhere Project will bring at least a thousand artists together to create art live at the US presidential inauguration in 2013 no matter what the weather is or who is president. The sole purpose would be to inspire people to make art (and not to denigrate or celebrate any future president and political party.
In 2011, the word will be spreading, through a new website, u tube, facebook. Artists will be sought out throughout the world and encouraged to start local groups of Artists Everywhere who will make art in public at likely and unlikely locations. There will be at least one major week-long artists residency/installation and a day long artathon at an international tech corporation. The artathon will bring 30-100 artists to the site who will make art along side employees.
The Artists Everywhere Project will be completely revved up during 2012—the year of campaigning for the November presidential election in the U.S. and the year some say the Mayan calendar predicts the end of the world. Certainly that would be a wonderful time for us artists to be more engaged in the public sphere and inspiring everybody to make art.
