Multimedia artist, SPECTRA Teaching artist, Community organizer. Santa Cruz Arts Commissioner, Coastal Watershed Council Board of Directors
Linda is a community organizer and teaching artist who has lived and worked in Santa Cruz County for over 40 years. A creative soul since childhood, her multimedia art starts with photography. Snapping a photo is the technical part of documenting what we see, but then Linda goes about interpreting the image, adding texture and doodles and artifacts until she reaches a point where she is satisfied the image conveys not just what happened, but what it feels like. Linda’s art has always been community oriented and social in nature. She is a Spectra Teaching Artist whose work focuses on teaching children about watershed habitats and the protection of water. She serves as a Santa Cruz Art Commissioner and on the Coastal Watershed Board of Directors. She has lived in many places: houses, trucks, tents, streets, on the ground and most had moments that felt like home to her. “There were times of comfort, of connection to that which was around me, even some wonderment, but to be called a home, every one of these places had to offer me a bit of peace and nourishment.”
